Charbono 2023 Frediani Vineyard, Calistoga

Greater Fool Wine’s 2023 Charbono Old Vines Frediani Vineyard was inspired by Robert Foley’s efforts with this unheralded variety A dark-fruited wine, with notes of bramble, blackberries and mint, it was cofermented with 8% Petite Sirah and matured in a mix of French and American oak (one-third new). Medium – to full – bodied, concentrated and firm, this wine shows ample breadth on the palate, plenty of flavor and outstanding length on the finish. Unfortunately, just 73 cases were produced.
